ART SPECIFICATIONS
for Designs by Anthony

Designs by Anthony will make every effort to assist your order by accepting art in the easiest format available from you. We have a full-service art department capable of handling most technical specifications, and professional art designers on-staff who are glad to assist in creative development of your design. Whether we can assist you in full design services, provide helpful direction for your own designer, or simply prepare your finished designs for the mill, our cooperative goal is to deliver the most successful finished product available.

High quality textile manufacturing - especially for specialized promotional garments - requires that a range of commercially acceptable tolerances be expected. Every effort is made to convert design ideas as closely as possible into the finished products, but the manufacturing process is truly a blend of art, science, and craft... and all our products are ultimately hand-made. Our mills are the best in the world at what they do, but please expect an outstanding "representation" of the art design, and not a precise "reproduction."

Hand drawn art, digital files, printouts, and product samples may all be acceptable to help direct the art design for your projects. Contact us for options acceptable to your specific order. However, the majority of art transfer in the industry is now via digital files.
FILE FORMATS:

Vector EPS files are strongly preferred for the best possible resolution of your logos/designs. Files also acceptable for vector art: Illustrator (.ai), Acrobat (.pdf) and Freehand (.fh). Note that text (lettering) should either be converted to vector outlines or the corresponding font files supplied in Mac format. Bitmap files are acceptable in Photoshop (.psd), TIFF, EPS, or JPEG, but may compromise the quality of final rendered art, &/or require additional pre-production processing. Photo art may also require specialized 4-color process printing, and must be quoted separately. Other format options may be acceptable pending factory review of the properties.
PROGRAMS:

Preferred programs are: Adobe Illustrator CS2 (or earlier); Adobe Photoshop CS (or earlier); Freehand 10.0 (or earlier).
DISCS:

DISCS: CD-ROM discs are preferred; Macintosh or 'Hybrid' (PC/MAC) formatted. 3.5" Floppy diskettes and ZIP discs are acceptable.
E-MAIL:

E-mail transfer is acceptable for most art files, but should be limited to 10MB maximum file size please! Compressed files are usually acceptable.
COLOR:

PANTONE (PMS) "spot-fill" coloring is strongly preferred. Note any gradients require conversion to separate PMS colors for wet dye printing. For Photo &/or 4-color process printing, CMYK is preferred over RGB.

Note scarves are available "bleed to hem" (ie 100% coverage) and can be formatted to size. Any other items require specialized template formatting in our art dept.
